THUMBNAILS AND SKETCHES

These were some of my initial sketches: the first image is some rough doodles, blocking in illustration and text placement (and some very crude eels, drawn sans reference images), and the second is a series of thumbnails for my chosen concept: an eel in the form of a circle, or eating its own tail, echoing the book's themes of the inexorable cycles of nature, life and family. For some electronic versions, I envision the illustration as being animated, rotating on touch.
